About Find My Scripture
Find My Scripture exists for the moment when you need a word from God and do not know where to look. Instead of asking you to know a chapter and verse, it lets you search by what you are actually going through — anxiety, grief, forgiveness, healing, hope, waiting — and gives you the passages that speak to it, each with a short reflection.
How verses are chosen
Every passage in the library has to clear the same bar before it is added:
- Rooted in Scripture. Every entry is a real passage from the Bible, cited by book, chapter and verse. Nothing is paraphrased, expanded, or presented as Scripture when it is not.
- Chosen for a real need. Verses are grouped by what people actually carry — fear, loneliness, gratitude, temptation, doubt — not by book or theological category alone. A passage earns its place because it meets someone in a real moment.
- A short reflection. Each verse comes with a brief note that connects the text to the situation it addresses, so the passage lands instead of floating alone.
- No duplicates. The same verse may speak to more than one need, but it appears once, tagged with every topic that fits.
Bible versions
Find My Scripture shows full verse text from translations that are in the public domain — the Douay-Rheims (the Catholic translation, set as the default), the King James Version, and the World English Bible. You can switch between them on any verse or in settings, and your choice is remembered. Modern copyrighted translations such as the NABRE, NIV, ESV and NRSV are not stored here; where they are offered, you are linked to an authorized source rather than shown text this site has no right to reproduce.
