But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, which is moved and carried about with the wind.

Reflection

The one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed. James is not describing someone who questions but someone who will not commit. Wisdom is given to those who ask in faith, which means the asking matters more than the certainty.
