Come to me, all you that labour, and are burdened, and I will refresh you.

Reflection

The invitation is not to the energetic or the put-together. It is to the weary and the burdened. Rest is what Jesus offers, and he does not ask you to earn it first.

Come to me

The invitation is to the weary, not to the worthy. Jesus does not ask what you have done or how you got so tired. The rest he offers is not a vacation but a yoke — his burden is light because he carries it with you.
