Read Psalm 143:7-8 in the NABRE onlineO Lord, hear my prayer: give ear to my supplications in thy truth: hear me in thy justice. And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for no man living shall be justified in thy sight. Make me to hear thy mercy in the morning; for I have hoped in thee.
Reflection
The urgency is honest: my spirit fails. But the psalm does not stop at the diagnosis. It names where the help comes from and asks to be led on level ground rather than left in the pit.
