Read Romans 8:16-17 in the NABRE onlineFor the Spirit himself giveth testimony to our spirit, that we are the sons of God. And if sons, heirs also; heirs indeed of God, and joint heirs with Christ: yet so, if we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him.
Reflection
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs — heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. The identity is confirmed by the Spirit, not by your performance. And the inheritance is shared with Christ, which means it is as secure as his.
